Kari Schmitt is an Oregon State Licensed Massage Therapist (#26343) and proud graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, located in New York City. As a native of Southern California, she earned a B.A. from California State University Dominguez Hills where her focus was on Sociology and Psychology. Kari is passionate about the therapeutic affects of massage therapy and its profound benefits on the human body and spirit. Having studied both traditional Western techniques and ancient Eastern modalities, she is able to blend a variety of approaches to healing and provide a one of a kind massage experience for every session.
Based on the client’s needs, individualized treatments are crafted by drawing upon Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trauma-Informed Care, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Sports Massage, Acupressure, Cupping, Gua Sha, Shiatsu, Thai bodywork, and Tui Na theory. She is also certified and specializes in Prenatal and Postpartum massage and enjoys working with folks at any stage of their pregnancy. She is a multidimensional practitioner who holds additional certifications in: Scar Tissue massage, Massage for the Transgender Client, Trauma-Informed Care, Plant Topicals on Inflammation, and Abhyanga Hot Oil massage.
